Professor Yakubu Olawale

Professor Yakubu Olawale is the author of the applied project management book “Project Control Methods and Best Practices: Achieving Project Success” Published by Business Expert Press. He is multi-qualified as a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Surveyor and Chartered Construction Project Manager. He is a Consulting Leader at one of the ‘big four’ professional services companies in the world. He is also a Professor of Infrastructure Engineering. He has more than 20 years of experience in the areas of project and program controls, project management and commercial finance, and project and program advisory across many industries including infrastructure, telecom, construction, IT, financial services, pharmaceutical, facilities management, government, and energy.

He has been involved with many strategically important projects and programs in the UK and has held senior positions at major UK companies including FTSE 100 / 250 companies and the ‘big four’ professional services companies in the world. Where he has consulted, advised clients, provided assurance, and strategic insights for boards, government, and leaders of organizations in relation to their capital projects, programs, and infrastructure investments.

He has held Non-executive Board Director roles in the UK and has held lectureship and academic roles at leading universities in the UK. He holds a BSc (Hons) degree, an LLB, an MSc (Eng), a PhD as well as an MBA from the University of Warwick. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA, CGMA), Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS), Member of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB), Full Member of the Association for Project Management (MAPM), and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). His research works have been published in leading academic journals including the International Journal of Project Management. He lives in England with his family, enjoys outdoor long distance running and has run the Manchester marathon. He loves sports and finds time to support Arsenal football club whenever he can.
